Every few years, we go back and revisit our list topic
about poor Chinese translations of English film titles.

The first such list was published on 8/25/97.

That list started a big media snowball in which everyone seemed
to think that those were actual mis-translations of movie titles
by the Chinese. Even news anchor Peter Jennings got into the act.

On 6/16/00 we took another whack at the topic.

Now that another four years have passed,
it's time to dip into the well once again.


The Top 5 Chinese Translations of English Movie Titles
(Part III)


    1. "Cast Away" -- "Crazy Island Man Converses With Sporting Equipment"

    2. "50 First Dates" -- "In Only One Hour I Will Be Horny Again!"

    3. "Signs" -- "Dead Baseball Players Have Left My Cornfield, Now I Have Space Men"

    4. "Memento" -- "See Today What I Did Tomorrow but Will Not Remember Yesterday"
