~~~ NOTE FROM CHRIS: ~~~
NBC's "Today" show has been the top-rated morning news
show for 500 consecutive weeks, a streak that started
in 1995. But there are a few cracks in the pavement....
The Top 5 Signs the "Today" Show Is Getting Stale
- This year's Sweeps Week featured both "Who in the World Is Katie Couric Banging?" and "What in the Holy Hell Is That in Gene Shalit's Mustache?"
- Al Roker: "You're glib, Matt. You don't know the truth about Dual Doppler 6000 radar. I do."
- The new cast addition, Al Roker's cousin Oliver, attempts to jump his skateboard over a pool of sharks.
- Gene Shalit no longer ends negative reviews with his trademark "Deal with it, beyotch!"
and the Number 1 Sign the "Today" Show Is Getting Stale...
- "And today, celebrating her 102nd birthday and continuing to be a drain on Social Security, the health care system and her family, Mrs. Maisie Nordell of Alpharetta, Georgia. Go towards the light, Maisie. Your kids want their spare bedroom back."
