A high-energy comedy laugh-tacular!
August 29, 2006

~~~ NOTE FROM CHRIS: ~~~
The International Astronomical Union recently considered
the addition of three new planets in our solar system:
Ceres, Charon and 2003 UB 313 (nicknamed Xena).
In other words, that old sentence we memorized to help us
remember the planets' order, "My Very Extravagant Mother
Just Sent Us Ninety Parrots," would no longer have worked.
Instead, the scientists decided merely to rescind
the planetary status of Pluto -- over the stated
objections of Goofy and Mickey, no less!
But had the pocket-protected ones gone through with
their nefarious planet-adding scheme, TopFive was
ready to come to the rescue of school kids everywhere!
[Science and English teachers: Please forgive
the liberties we often took with the final word.]
The Top 5 Mnemonic Devices We Could
Have Used for a 12-Planet Solar System
  1. My very excitable mother caught Jenny showing Uncle Nick's private cassettes, X-rated.
  2. My vacuuming Ecuadorian maid cheerfully just sucked up nine pretty chunky xcrements.
  3. My virtually excellent mnemonic changed: Jackass scientists undermined nifty planetary-charting xercise.
  4. Murder's very easy. My child, Jason, slashed up nine Peruvians. Crazy xenophobe.
    and the Number 1 Mnemonic Device We Could Have Used for a 12-Planet Solar System...
  5. Most Vulcans enjoy massaging collarbones, just sometimes unexpected neck pressures cause xpiry.
