TopFive's Happy Holidays Project!

I've been thinking about what TopFive could do to make the world a better place this holiday season.

Seriously. No joke. With so much fighting and bickering in the world, I thought it would be nice for us to do a little something to make things a little less ugly.

But what?

Well, after doing this for 12 years now, TopFive has a very large audience, so if I could just get everyone to send in ONE SINGLE DOLLAR, we could make a sizable donation to a worthy charity. So that's what we're going to do.

The charity: The U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program

Toys for Tots helps the neediest children in the U.S. experience the joy of the holiday season by providing toys that are beyond the reach of many poor families.

So what do YOU get for your dollar?

Apart from knowing you've done a good thing, I'll sweeten the pot a bit: I promise if we can put together a donation of $10,000 $5,000 -- about a dollar from one out of eight of you --

I'll give you the FULL DAILY TOP 5 LIST FOR ALL OF 2007!

Let me repeat that: No more 5-item lists!

You'll be able to read the entire list EVERY day. For FREE. And subscribers of the free version of Ruminations will get TWICE as many Ruminations every day, for the whole year.

That's it. Be a good human and get a cool reward! I'm stoked about this and hope you'll ALL pitch in. TopFive will kick in a cool $100 to get the ball rolling, and we'll cough up another $50 for every $1000 raised.

The total raised as of midnight on December 20: $3389.61.

There are three ways to donate:

1> Donate via PayPal to paypal2 -at- topfive.com.

2> Send a check (payable to "TopFive.com Toys for Tots Project") to:

Chris White
10965 Bluffside Dr., #456
Studio City, CA 91604

(Nudie pix optional!)

3> Donate via credit card.

A few quick notes:
  1. Those who want to make larger contributions can certainly do so -- no use limiting people to a single dollar. Give only what you're comfortable giving.
  2. My shopping cart software requires you to have a "membership" account to complete any transaction. Sorry for the hassle. I'll delete all of these memberships at the end of the month.
  3. PayPal users: Please consider giving more than one dollar, as PayPal keeps 30¢ from each transaction for itself.
  4. This will NOT be tax deductible for you. I've got absolutely no idea how to set that up, so I'm counting this as income for TopFive and a deduction for TopFive. Much simpler on this end.

Thanks, and happy upcoming holidays!

Chris
