Peg Warner's acceptance speech:
Hall of Fame? Did somebody say Hall of Fame? Oh, finally getting around to me, eh, Listboy? It's only been nine freakin' years I've been slaving over a hot keyboard, crafting morsels to feed the insatiable humor beast, and for what? The cachet of being an Internet mini-celebrity, all the while watching others with less seniority surpass me? You think getting the best tables in Internet cafes is enough? Wait -- oh, you mean this thing's on? I'd ... um ... I'd like to thank the generous and benevolent Mr. White for this honor. I'm ... I'm humbled at being included in this eloquent and talented company. Who would have thought that a shy, awkward newspaper reporter who went from her roots in a Maine mill town to the bright lights of Bangor and then on to just-out-of-reach-of-the-ocean New Hampshire would end up here? I sure wouldn't have. And I'd like to thank my family, my friends, and everybody I stepped on along the way for helping me get where I am.
